| enthusiast's site than a show site. I personally have never met anyone who doesnt like making a sportscar faster, so I have to raise the flag there. Nice job? Sure you could say that, it isnt all duct taped together and halfassed. But so what? Again this site is more about the car's performance and aesthetics take a far back seat unless they are applied to something that has a functional purpose (stainless steel exhaust, hardpipes, wheels, etc). Honestly where do showcars draw the line? Why not take the engine out and put all that wasted space to use with some more fiberglass and a 36" sub? Every showcar I have ever seen I never see anything "original". They pretty much have the same basic formulas of bling and sound with mnor variations here and there. Now you could say the same thing about modding cars for greater performance. We all seem to buy the exact same mods and dont get anywhere that someone hasnt already gotten before. The difference is.... Showcars are good for nothing but to park and people to look at. It's like porn, seen one good porno, you've seen them all. Cars modified for performance however, put power on the pavement, a grin on your face, and your ass well back in your seat. So unlike porno, they are the real thing. I will get sick of driving my car right about the same time that I get sick of having sex. So you have to understand what the vast majority of the folks on this site are all about. It isnt showcars and bling for bling's sake. The majority of the people here will tell the owner of that car that he would have gotten far more lasting satisfaction out of the money he spent on all that stuff if he had spent it on swapping out that NA motor for a built VG30DETT from IPP/Z1/SGP. And they would be right.
Showcars are flavor of the month, show me one showcar that is unchanged from 1990 that still wins awards, and I'll show you dozens upon dozens upon hundreds of performance modded cars that still put power on the pavement, grins on faces, asses in seatbacks, and "holy shits" from the mother-in-laws.
